Exile On Mainstream is proud to re-release this previous milestone in a super-limited run, mainly as a present to the fans who haven´t been able to get their hands on it initially. 2D was initially intended to be a project recording until both bands quickly became aware that what they were working on was something greater.
The album featured 300 limited edition hand-made domestic wood/copper wire cases designed & created by Christian of IF THOUSANDS & friends – the master concept & mixing was done by A WHISPER IN THE NOISE. The concept behind the album reveals itself through the first listen. It´s far advanced from what one usually would expect from a split or collaboration album. Even thou both bands recorded their parts on their own it all seems to channel into something very unique and fitting once put together in sequence and it becomes hard to tell which band´s effort it is you are hearing a certain moments. Just as a puzzle that becomes a beautiful picture, the musical lines draw together and make up a hand-woven carpet of sheer bliss with the dark edge we so well adore in other recordings by A WHISPER IN THE NOISE and of course, IF THOUSANDS.
